Eastwood Outruns San Angelo Central 61-49

The Eastwood Troopers hosted the San Angelo Bobcats Friday night, winning 61-49. A game that had over 1200 total yards of offense combined, a shootout at Trooper Stadium.

The three headed monster of a rushing attack between Max Mancilla, Evan Minjarez, and Jake Chenausky could not be stopped. Runs would set up easy passes that resulted in touchdowns for the Eastwood offense.

The Bobcats would have no answers for them. Evan Macías and Curtís Murillo would be featured in the passing game briefly but big gains from come from Mancilla out of the back field. Head Coach Julio Lopez and the coaching staff had the right mix of calls to keep San Angelo Central on its heels the entire night.

The Bobcats were lead by Tyler Hill who would try to keep his team alive. A few miscues on deep passes to Jacob English would ultimately be the difference. Three times the connection would be dropped or overthrown. At least two of them would have been good for a score. Hill had a 70 rushing touchdown that would keep San Angelo in the game late in the 4th quarter. Down late Hill once again trying for English resulted in an interception by Curtis Murillo to seal the deal.

Eastwood picks up its second piece of hardware and will face Byron Nelson next in the Area round with the location, time and date to be determined.
