Friday night’s matchup between the Austin Panthers and Riverside Rangers locked in who is the front-runner in District 1-4A Division 1. The game had to be relocated to Bowie’s Baty-Simang Stadium, due to lighting issues at Austin’s R.E. McKee Stadium.
With the Riverside Rangers coming off an emphatic win last week in their district opener at Irvin, they looked to carry on the momentum into Friday night’s matchup, as they hosted the San Elizario Eagles.
Senior quarterback Angel Munoz and the Riverside Rangers (2-0) dominated the Burges Mustangs (0-2) through the air and on the ground in an impressive 54-13 victory before a capacity crowd at Tom Work Riverfront Stadium.
