El Paso, Texas, May 6, 2025 – The El Paso Community College (EPCC) baseball team earned several Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC) postseason awards at the conclusion of the 2025 regular season.
Earning first team honors, sophomore infielder Carlos Mauldin earns the award for his play at third base. Mauldin batted .454 with 74 hits, 14 home runs, 50 runs scored, 53 RBI and a fielding percentage of .765.
Earning second team honors were pitchers Carlos Rodriguez and Jack Gallegos, along with Designated Hitter Alan Nava. Nava batted .373 with 76 hits, 13 home runs, 50 runs scored and 52 RBI.
Rodriguez was 6-1 on the season and led EPCC with a 2.14 Earned Run Average (ERA) in 21 appearances for the Tejanos. Rodriguez pitched 42 innings, giving up 30 hits, 10 earned runs, struck out 44 with 15 walks. Meanwhile, Gallegos finished with a 4.52 ERA for EPCC in 63.2 innings, giving up 32 earned runs, 63 hits, and struck out 86.
The Tejanos will travel to play at Weatherford College for the best of three series in the NJCAA Region 5 baseball playoffs starting Thursday, May 8, 2025, in Weatherford, Texas. All games will be at 12:00 p.m. MT.
