Locos Drop Match 2-1 to Memphis 901 FC in Final Minute

On Friday night at Southwest University Park, the El Paso Locomotive FC lost a heartbreaker of a match 2-1 to Memphis 901 FC as Bruno Lapa scored a right footed shot in the final minute of extra play in the match.

The Locos got on the board in the 24 minute of the first half when they got an own goal by Memphis’ Akeem Ward.

The lead would only last for five minutes as Memphis would tie the match when Marlon would hit a header to score the goal.

The rest of the match was an even matched affair as both team wouldn’t be able to score any goals and it seemed that the match was going to end in a tie but in the final minute of the match, that’s when Lapa scored the game winning goal for Memphis.

With the loss, the Locomotive FC are still searching for their first home win of the season. For their next match they will travel to take on Charleston Battery on Friday May 24 at 5:30 pm.
