The Sam Houston Bearkats went on a 13-2 in the second half and held on to beat the UTEP Miners Men’s Basketball team 65-54 Saturday night in the Don Haskins Center.
The Miners were down by 5 at the half when they went on a 6-0 run to take a 1 point lead but that’s when the Bearkats went on their run to take the lead.
Both teams struggled offensively in this game as the Miners shot 39% from the field and the Bearkats shot 48% from the field.
The big difference in this game is that Sam Houston made 90% of their free throws as they made 18-20 and the Miners made 57% of their free throws making 8 out of 14.
UTEP has lost 4 games in a row and will travel to take on Jax St. on Thursday.
