The Chapin Huskies will be playing in the Boys Basketball Regional 1-5A Title Game on Saturday afternoon after they beat O.D. Wyatt 69-68 in an exciting double overtime game in the semifinals on Friday night at the Kay Yeager Coliseum in Wichita Falls.
Chapin’s Brandon Hymes had the game winning basket for the Huskies with 11 seconds left in the second overtime.
Chapin was lead in scoring by Bryson Goldsmith who had 26 points. Idalius Coleman had 15 points and Hymes scored 13 but his last six points came when the Huskies needed them the most in double overtime.
With the win #18 Chapin will face #11 Mansfield Summit Jaguars at noon CST for the Regional 1-5A Title. It will be the first time in school history that the Huskies will be playing for a regional title.
