Shabach Christian Academy and Lubbock Monterey won the Boys and Girls divisions of the 2022 McDonald’s Classic Basketball Tournament Saturday afternoon at Eastlake High School.
Shabach beat the Balboa Bengals in the boys championship game 63-45. The Eagles had a couple players in double figures in Ibrahim Robinson, Andre Thomas and Kevon Corley.
El Paso’s Franklin Cougars finished the tournament in third place.
In the girls championship game, Lubbock Monterey beat Shabach Christian Academy 66-34. The Lady Plainsmen were lead by Aaliyah Chavez as she had 30 points. 28 of them were scored by the third quarter.
