Abilene’s Defense Leads them to a 42-14 Win Over Del Valle

The Abilene Eagles won the 5A Division 1 Bi-District Championship after they beat the Del Valle Conquistadores 42-14 Thursday night at Conquest Stadium.

The Eagles defense made it a long night for the Del Valle offense as they shut them down for almost 3 quarters. It wasn’t until late in the third that the Conquistadores would score their first points of the game but by then it was too late as they were down 42-7.

The Del Valle defense played good for most of the first half but once the Eagles made some adjustments and found a way to score 5 minutes before halftime, the flood gate of points started to flow for the Eagles as they would score 42 unanswered points.

Antonie Rashaw had a big night for the Eagles as he scored 3 touchdowns on the ground. He scored on a 11 yard run, 61 yard run and a 65 yard run to lead Abilene into the Area round of the playoffs.

For Del Valle, QB Jessie Ramos continued to his streak of throwing a touchdown pass in every game this season as he connected with both R.J. Bracamontes and Eli Molina for scores.

The season ends for Del Valle but they still had a tremendous season as they finished at 10-2 and went undefeated in district and won the district title.
