Eastwood Clinches Share of 6A District Title

For the fourth consecutive year, Eastwood once again finishes at the top, the Trooper seniors get their fourth district title. They finished the season taking care of Eastlake 42-0.

Eastlake’s offense never could get going, the team barley broke 103 total yards. Pair that with a couple of INTs, a safety and a fumble and the offense couldn’t string a drive together.

This night belonged to Eastwood in every way possible. All three phases from the Troopers was won in impressive fashion, the game was tucked away before halftime as Eastwood jumped out to a 30-0 lead.

Evan Minjarez had four touchdowns and just over 245 yards on the night and Curtis Murillo was his favorite target all game long. 3 times they would be on the same page for long touchdowns torching the Eastlake defense.

Eastwood clinches a share of the district title and most importantly a bi-district home game against likely San Angelo Central. Eastlake will now have to travel east to most likely Frenship.
