Del Valle Claims District 1-5A Title by Defeating Bel Air 66-7

The Del Valle  Conquistadores put on another dominant performance defeating Bel Air 66 to 7 finishing the regular season 9-1 and hoisting the District 1-5a title.

Conquistador Quarterback Jesse Ramos ran for 3 touchdowns and threw for 3  in route to the win. The Del Valle defense would hold Bel Air scoreless pressuring Highlander Quarterback Noah Moreno all night making it difficult to move the chains the entire night. 

Del Valle would score on their 1st possession on a Ramos 2 yard keeper jumping out to a 7-0 lead. Bel Air’s high powered offense struggled to move the ball all night going 3-and-out on their 1st 4 possessions. Jesse Ramos would find Mat Lopez on a 3 yard Touchdown pass making the score 14-0.  Del Valle receiver Eli Molina would catch a tipped Jesse Ramos pass taking it 43 yards for a score and giving the Conquistadores a 21-0 lead at the end of the First Quarter.

Del Valle would put the game out of reach early in the 2nd Quarter when the offense would drive to the Bel Air 2 yard line and Jesse Ramos would run for his 2nd touchdown on the ground making it 28-0. The Conquistadores would add another score before the half on Ramos 17 yard Touchdown run on a quarterback draw making the score 35-0 at the half. 

The 2nd half mirrored the first as Del Valle would quickly score 3 touchdowns. In the 3rd quarter the 1st coming on Ramos finding Mat Lopez for his 3rd touchdown pass (2nd TD pass for Lopez). Wide Receiver Isaac Arenas would add a score on a sweep. Shelton Fuller would add two scores  the first on a 43 yard pick-6, and the 2nd on a 60 yard carry making the score 63-0 going into the the 4th Quarter. 

The 4th Quarter was more of a coronation for the District Champion Conquistadors. Kicker Josh Torres would add a 25 yard field goal and Bel Air Quarterback Noah Moreno would throw a touchdown pass to Mike Mukibi for their only score making the final 66-7.

Del Valle finished an impressive 9-1 season with their lone loss coming to District 1-6a champion Pebble Hills and a perfect 5-0 district record. Del Valle now sets their sights on hosting a bi-district playoff game next week.
