Freshman quarterback Daveon Singleton scored five touchdowns and led the Chapin Huskies to a 42-6 victory over the El Paso Tigers before a spirited Senior Night crowd at R. R. Jones Stadium. The Huskies never trailed in the contest and simply dominated the Tigers in all three phases of the game.
Chapin sophomore running back Brandon Ortega got the Chapin offense rolling, finding the end zone on a 19 yard run at the 8:00 minute mark in the first quarter. Minutes later, a Husky interception by senior cornerback Yoshua Yhisreal led to the first Singleton touchdown, an 11 yard run. El Paso senior running back Joshua Contreras put the Tigers on the board late in the first quarter with a 15 yard catch from senior quarterback Gerry Chairez.

The Husky defense kept the Tigers scoreless for the remainder of the contest, holding El Paso to 223 yards of total offense.
Singleton gave the Huskies a 21-6 lead early in the second quarter on a 50 yard run. The freshman quarterback kept his foot on the gas in the third quarter, running for two touchdowns of 3 and 44 yards. Singleton’s final touchdown of the contest came early in the fourth quarter on a 19 yard touchdown run.
Singleton rushed for 179 yards on 15 carries and passed for 47 yards. Ortega rushed for 84 yards on 14 carries and sophomore running back Michael Medina rushed for 53 yards on five carries. Sophomore wide receiver Savion Jordan had four receptions for 47 yards.
El Paso senior running back Lueranze Johnson rushed for 115 yards on 16 carries and caught two passes for 25 yards.
