The Eastwood Troopers dominated the Franklin Cougars 55–36, spoiling senior night festivities at Cougar stadium on Friday Night.
The Troopers offense marched up and down the field and into the end zone at will; led by quarterback Evan Minjarez, running back Max Mancilla and receiver Curtis Murillo.

Coach Julio Lopez expressed high praise for the Troopers offensive rush attack and how it might be the best he’s ever seen, highlighting the o-line controlling the line of scrimmage and the backfield displaying multiple big play threats.
Despite Franklin scoring 36 points Friday night, Eastwood stopped the Cougars in critical moments of the game. Franklin failed to find its rhythm in the first half, and missed out on two scoring opportunities after lengthy drives down field.
At the beginning of the second half Eastwood’s defense forced a Shay Smith
interception that tipped the momentum highly in favor of the Troopers. Eastwood would add 27 points more to its second half tally sheet setting up victory formation to close out Franklin.
Next week Eastwood have a big game against Eastlake that will determine important playoff seeding. Whereas Franklin are in a must win situation with an away game against El Dorado with playoff implications.
