Pebble Hills Wins First District 1-6A Title

For the first time in their short history, the Pebble Hills Spartans are the District 1-6A Champions after they beat the Eastlake Falcons 38-14 Thursday night at the Socorro Athletic Complex.

Once again the Pebble Hills defense shined bright as they forced 4 fumbles that were recovered by the Spartans and after they allowed Eastlake to score first they buckled down and basically shut down the Falcons offense.

Pebble Hills would go on to score 38 unanswered points after giving up the first touchdown. Spartans QB Gael Ochoa would run for two TDs and pass another to Marcus Torres. Running Back Jacob Ledesma would also have two rushing TDs for the Spartans.

For Eastlake, QB Luke Lomeli and RB Jeremiah Escamilla would each have a touchdown for the Falcons.

Win the win Pebble Hills ends their regular season at 9-1 (8-1) and are the District 1-6A Champions. Next week will be their bye week so they will have an extra week to rest up for the first round of the playoffs.

For Eastlake who has already clinched playoff birth is now 6-3 (5-2) will end the regular season at Eastwood next week
