The Eastwood defense shut down Montwood’s offense as they beat the Rams 43-17 on Friday night.
Eastwood hosted Montwood with both teams needing a win to stay alive in the playoff race.

In an expected shootout at Trooper Stadium. Montwood had one of the better passing attacks in the city going into Friday night, the big question was could Eastwood stop it. They answered the call limiting the Rams offense to 1 touchdown on the entire night.
The Eastwood offense continue to roll as that as never been an issue for the Troopers. Coach Julio Lopez knew it was the defense that was being questioned all week and he talked post game how they took it personally and responded well.
Eastwood sits in the middle of the playoff race in 3rd place but they have some challenges ahead as the schedule doesn’t let up. Two potential playoff teams in Franklin and Eastlake are next. With how the schedule plays out the top 4 teams face each other and might knock each other out.
Montwood sitting at 7th place still has a slim shot of sneaking in if they win out, they’ll have to beat out another team in the hunt the El Dorado Aztecs and a tough Coronado team to do it with some help along the way.
