Senior quarterback Gerry Chairez passed and ran for a combined 289 yards and led the El Paso Tigers over the Jefferson Silver Foxes 21 to 15 at R. R. Jones Stadium.
The Silver Foxes controlled the ball for most of the first quarter, striking first with a 5 yard touchdown run by senior running back Roman Gomez followed by a successful 2-point conversion. El Paso scored late in the first quarter on a 30 yard touchdown pass from Chairez to senior wideout Alejandro Chavez.

El Paso would find the end zone again halfway through the second quarter on a 4 yard touchdown run by senior running back Zachary Mendoza. The Tigers took a 14-8 lead into the locker room at halftime.
In the third quarter, Chairez tossed his second touchdown pass of the contest, a 72 yard completion to junior wide receiver Pablo Gonzalez. The Tiger defense stifled the Silver Foxes throughout most of the second half; however, Jefferson scored in the fourth quarter with 4:31 remaining on a 15 yard halfback option pass from junior running back Miguel Rubio to senior wideout Dilan Navarro.
Quarterback Gerry Chairez completed 8 of 15 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns. Chairez also ran for 79 yards on 14 carries. Roman Gomez led the Silver Foxes with 15 carries for 60 yards and one touchdown. Jefferson quarterback Andre Lopez completed 8 of 10 passes for 66 yards.
