Canutillo Runs Past Burges 31-0

On a soggy Friday night in far west Texas, The Canutillo Eagles had a big first quarter that propelled them to a 31-0 win over the Burges Mustangs.

The Eagles were back in action after last week’s bye and wasted no time finding the endzone, as Canutillo tacked on 28 points in the 1st quarter.

Senior running back LJ Martin returned to the blue turf with a plethora of runs as he works his way back into the Eagles offense.

“Just coming back out here they made it really easy for me to find running lanes,” Martin said. “The O-line did great, defense pitched a shutout, I’m just grateful for the opportunity.”

With last night’s victory Canutillo sit at the top of the district standings along with next week’s opponent Andress. Whereas Burges have an away game against Chapin.
