Switchbacks Beat Locomotive FC 4-1

El Paso Locomotive FC (12-13-7, 43 points, West-8) dropped points to the number three team in the Western Conference, Colorado Springs Switchbacks.

This is the first time in franchise history and across the previous 11 meetings between the two sides that Colorado has won. El Paso has a quick turnaround and plays their final home match of the 2022 season this Saturday against Orange County SC. Kick off is slated for 7:30 p.m.

Forward Lucho Solignac notched his 15 goal of the season in the 28 minute of play. Midfielder Liam Rose received the ball near the top of the Colorado 18-yard box and sent in a cross to find Lucho unmarked at the top of the six-yard box. The Argentine striker put it away with a header and sent the ball into the keeper’s far post.

“At the end of the day the result wasn’t there. We are still a tough team, we are a team that will compete every game, and we can win every game … at the end of the day we need to rely on ourselves and do our job.” Commented Midfielder Eric Calvillo. “Two more days and then we are back at it again especially at home what more could you ask for?”

The night would finish 4-1 in favor of the visitors. El Paso has two matches remaining in the regular season and sit tied with Rio Grande Valley and Oakland Roots at 43 points each.
