Junior wideout Christopher Davis and junior running back Mark Mukiibi each scored two touchdowns as the Bel Air Highlanders (5-0) defeated the Jefferson Silver Foxes (3-2) before a homecoming crowd at Silver Fox Stadium.
The Highlanders continued a balanced air and ground attack that overwhelmed the Silver Fox defense. The Bel Air defense rose to the occasion, forcing turnovers and giving the offense excellent field position throughout the contest. A Jefferson fumble led to Bel Air’s first touchdown, a 58-yard reception from junior quarterback Noah Moreno to Mukiibi with 5:10 remaining in the first quarter.

The second quarter belonged to the Highlanders.
Mukiibi found the end zone once again, junior cornerback Oscar Martinez returned an interception 27 yards for a touchdown, and Davis caught a 30-yard touchdown with 3:57 remaining in the first half. The prior play (a 91-yard Davis touchdown) was wiped out by a Bel Air unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. The Highlanders took a 28-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Both offensive units were quiet through most of the second half. The Silver Foxes’ first and last touchdown came with 8:28 remaining in the third quarter on a 28-yard reception by senior quarterback Andre Lopez. Davis scored the final touchdown of the contest, a 71-yard catch.
Noah Moreno was 11 of 17 for 182 yards and four touchdowns. Zach Martinez rushed 15 times for 145 yards. Davis caught seven passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns. Jefferson junior running back Miguel Rubio rushed 13 times for 116 yards. Andre Lopez was 11 of 20 for 127 yards and one interception.
