Socorro hosted Montwood for Homecoming in the late window at the Student Activities Complex on Friday but the Rams would spoil the Bulldog’s Homecoming as they would blank Socorro 63-0
The Rams looked determined to get a win after having two close losses in the past weeks. After getting a 3 and out in the opening possession, Deigo Oaxaca would take a bubble screen and turn it into a 28 yard touchdown to start the scoring for Montwood.

From there on out the Rams wouldn’t look back putting up 63 unanswered points, 35 of those points were in the first quarter alone.
Socorro did have a new look to their offense, heavy on the shotgun set, quick passes, counter runs and go routes. Something you’d haven’t seen from the Bulldogs but they had missed opportunities and stalled drives. Three times they would cross midfield but would turn over on downs.
After the game, Rams Coach Ariel Famaligi talked about the win:
The Rams get their first win of the season, 1-3 (1-1) and Socorro falls to 0-3 (0-1). It doesn’t get easier for the Bulldogs they travel to the west side next week to take on Franklin, Montwood has a bye.
