Both schools look to get their first victory of the young season with both teams coming off of Week 1 loses. This was the first time both schools have meet on the field in 17 years. Ysleta leads the all time head to head matchups 3-1.

Clint opened up the game with and impressive and lengthy opening drive. They managed to get three first downs in the drive. They capped off the possessions with a Killyon Delgado 23yd touchdown pass to Zachary Delgado. The extra point attempt was no good and the Lions led 6-0 with 3:25 left in the opening quarter. Ysleta would not move the ball as efficiently as their opponent did with their first possession and the quarter would end with them trailing.

In the opening minutes of the second quarter, Clint would expand their lead with a 2yd touchdown run by Diego Cordoba. The Lions would successfully convert on a 2pt conversion to expand their lead to 14-0 with 10:35 to go in the half. Clint attempted an onside kick and successfully recovered to set up their next scoring drive. Zachary Delgado would score on a 4yd touchdown run and put the Lions in a commanding lead 21-0. Ysleta would put a successful drive before the half concluded with a Evan Martinez 53 yd touchdown pass to Julian Jimenez. The ensuing extra point attempt was no good. Clint would lead at halftime 21-6.

Ysleta would come out of halftime with another scoring drive. Martinez would have another huge passing touchdown to Devin Hernandez. The 2pt conversion was good and Ysleta trailed by single digits. The rest of the game turned into a defensive battle.

Martinez would have had another long touchdown down that would have potentially tied the game but the touchdown was overturned on a late flag. Neither team would score the rest of the game and the Lions would get the win 21-14.

Ysleta will host Bowie next Friday for homecoming and Clint will travel to New Mexico to face Gadsden.
