Four-Millionth Fan Expected to Attend Chihuahuas Game this Home Series

EL PASO – The Chihuahuas are set to hit a new attendance milestone as the four-millionth fan is slated to come through the gates of Southwest University Park this weekend when the Chihuahuas take on the Texas Rangers affiliate, the Round Rock Express.

The fan is expected to come in during one of the games this weekend. To date, the Chihuahuas have welcomed 3,975,826 guests to the ballpark in nine seasons and need just 24,174 fans to reach the four-million mark.

“It is so amazing to think back nine years ago and now appreciate how many millions of fans have come to Southwest University Park to cheer on their El Paso Chihuahuas,” said Brad Taylor, MountainStar Sports Group Senior Vice President and Chihuahuas General Manager. “Many family memories have been made and shared here. We are elated to celebrate that.”

When the four-millionth fan enters the gates over the projected weekend, the lucky guest is slated to receive the following:

  • 1-millionth: August 1, 2015
  • 2-millionth: June 29, 2017
  • 3-millionth: June 14, 2019

The series opens with Taco Tues & Brews on Tuesday, followed by Wednesday’s Wine & 9, presented by Trinchero Family Estates, with $4 single-serve wines and $9 small carne asada fries. The food and beverage deals continue Thursday with the popular $2 specials presented by Speaking Rock Entertainment. All food and beverage specials end 2.5 hours after gates open.

Friday’s game includes an El Paso Rope cap giveaway for the first 1,500 fans in attendance with paid admission, presented by GECU. Saturday’s Fireworks Spectacular will be choreographed to the music of the band Queen, and the series concludes with GECU Bark at the Park on Sunday.
