Stoppage Time Goal Gives Locomotive FC 2-2 Draw with Atlanta United II

The El Paso Locomotive FC got a goal in the 91st minute by Eric Calvillo that allowed them to steal a point in a 2-2 draw with Atlanta United II Saturday night at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

Weather forced the game to start late but when the match started the Locos didn’t wait long to get on the scoreboard as Lucho Solignac would score a goal in the fourth minute after and assist by Ricardo Zacarias.

El Paso would only have the lead for seven minutes as Tristan Trager would score his first of two goals in the 11th minute. Then just six minutes later, Trager would score his second goal to give Atlanta a 2-1 lead.

The score would stay that way for the rest of the match and just when it seemed that Atlanta was gonna get the win, El Paso got a free kick opportunity in stoppage play and that’s when Calvillo would score the goal that tied the match allowing the Locos to steal the point from Atlanta.

With the draw the Locos are now 8-6-6 with 30 points and haven’t lost in their last nine matches. They return home for their next match against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday July 9 at Southwest University Park. Kickoff is at 7:30 pm.
