Locomotive FC Gets a Draw with Rio Grande Valley FC

The El Paso Locomotive FC earned a point as they played to a scoreless draw with Rio Grande Valley FC Wednesday night at H-E-B Park.

Both teams defenses played good but the Locomotive’s defense was spectacular as they forced the draw with a nine-man team. The Locos got in that situation due to an injury with no subs remaining and Yuma getting a red card in the 83rd minute.

Once again, El Paso goalkeeper Evan Newton shined as he made four saves and got back to back clean sheets. He now has seven clean sheets this season.

With the draw, the Locos get one point and are now 8-6-5 with 29 points and are in fourth place in the Western Division. They will stay on the road for their next game as they take on Atlanta United II for the first time in franchise history. Kickoff from Fifth Third Bank Stadium is set for 5:30 p.m. MT on Saturday, July 2 and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
