Locomotive FC Shuts Out Phoenix Rising FC 1-0

The El Paso Locomotive FC got their first ever victory over Phoenix Rising FC by shutting them out 1-0 at Phoenix Rising Soccer Stadium at Wild Horse Pass on Saturday night.

Both defenses played well in the first half as they didn’t allow the opposition to score. The closest we got to goal is when Aaron Gomez hit a shot that hit the back of the net in the 11th minute but he was called offsides.

The match continued to be a defensive one until Aaron Gomez got the Locos on the board when he scored on a penalty kick in the 71st minute.

That one goal was all the Locos needed as Evan Newton got another clean sheet victory.

With the win El Paso gets the three points and is now 7-6-3 with 24 points and is in 4th place in the Western Division. Their next game will be nationally televised on ESPN as they travel to take on Detroit City FC on Saturday, June 18th at 10 am.
