Texas Police Athletic Games Coming to El Paso

El Paso, Texas – The El Paso Sports Commission, in a collaboration with Destination El Paso, the City of El Paso Parks & Recreation Department, and the County of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department, would like to announce the Texas Police Athletic Federation Games have been awarded to El Paso in 2023!

This will be the second largest sporting event in El Paso history, with 1000-1200 participants June 11-17, 2023, following the USBC Open and Women’s Championships at the Convention Center. The event is expected to bring in approximately $5 to $7 million in economic impact to the Sun City!

These games were created in 1975 as a way to enhance physical fitness, along the way instilling pride in the law enforcement profession through the spirit of sportsmanship…speaking of pride, what a way to celebrate the El Paso Law Enforcement community, a top 3 large safe city in the United States.

TPAF Games Information: The event features 30+ overall events, 1000-1200 athletes on average, and 4000-6000 hotel room nights. It will be held in El Paso June 11-17, 2023, at venues all over the county. Participants are not just from Texas, but it is open to the entire Southwest, and we are aiming to market the event to Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Mexico.  Participants include all law enforcement, active or retired, and Fire, Border Patrol, Homeland Security, even active or retired military.

TPAF Core Events: Archery, Basketball, Bass Tournament, Biathlon, Billiards, Body Building, Bowling, Cornhole, CrossFit, Cycling, Dominoes, Duathlon, Flag Football, Golf, Karate, Mountain Bike, Obstacle Course, Pistols Tactical, 3 Gun Event, Powerlifting, Racquetball, Rifle, Saltwater Fishing, Soccer, Skeet/Trap/5-Stand, Softball, Submission Wrestling, Tennis, Texas Hold’Em, Track & Field, Triathlon, Volleyball (2v2, 6v6), 5K/10K run (Events added or cancelled dependent on participation).
