The El Paso Locomotive FC got their first win of the season as they beat Monterey Bay FC 5-0 in a dominate performance Saturday night at Southwest University Park.
The Locos got on the scoreboard first as Andrew Fox scored on a header in the 19th minute. Then Aaron Gomez scored on a penalty kick in the 35th minute to give the Locomotive FC a 2-0 lead. The score would stay at 2-0 at halftime.
It wouldn’t take El Paso long to add more points in the second half as Aaron Gomez would score his second goal of the night in the 47th minute. Then four minutes later, Diego Luna would score a goal making the score 4-0.
Dylan Mares would then cap a dominate offense performance by the Locos as he would score in the 75 minute to make the score 5-0.
The Locomotive FC defense was outstanding as they only allowed two shots on goal in the match. The offense would have 70% possession in the match and they would have 23 total shots and 12 shots on target.
The 5-0 win is the biggest margin of victory in franchise history.
With the win the Locos get 3 points and are now 1-4. They will next play on Saturday April 16 as they travel to take on San Antonio FC.
