UTEP Women’s Golf Returns to Action at Wyoming Cowgirl Classic
EL PASO, Texas – Following their best finish of the season, a fourth-place showing at the HBU Husky Invitational three weeks ago, the UTEP women’s golf team will compete in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club (par 72, 6,191 yards) in Maricopa, Ariz. on Monday and Tuesday.
Each day of the tournament gets underway at 7:30 a.m. MST/8:30 a.m. MDT with 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Live results will be available here.
The Miners are one of 22 participating schools in the event. Other competitors include Wyoming, Idaho, Santa Clara, Grand Canyon, Southern Utah, Northern Arizona, Eastern Washington, South Dakota State, Long Beach State, Montana, Cal State Fullerton, Northern Colorado, NM State, Cal Baptist, Montana State, UC Riverside, Boise State, Nevada, Seattle U, Hawaii and Portland State.
In total, 119 participants will take the course over the two-day tournament.
UTEP will send the five of Sophie Delfosse, Andrea Ostos, Marta Romeu Chen, Ines Dakiche and Tijana Jovicevic Kovacic to Arizona to compete. Dakiche is making her spring season debut after competing in four events during the fall.
Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club has four par-5 holes, 10 par-4 holes and four par-3 holes.
