The El Paso Locomotive FC lost 5-4 to the Las Vegas Lights FC in a high scoring match Wednesday night at Southwest University Park.
What made this match crazy is that all the scoring was done in the second half. Caleb Jennings got the scoring started when he hit a goal in the 53rd minute for Las Vegas.
Then two minutes later, The Lights FC were on the board again when Danny Trejo scored and then three minutes after that Jennings would score again to give Las Vegas a 3-0 lead.
Three minutes after Jennings’ goal, Nick Hinds would get the Locos on then board by scoring a goal to make the score 3-1, but just a minute later Trejo would score another goal and give Las Vegas a 4-1 lead.
El Paso would then score two goals in a row as Ricardo Zacarias scored in the 65th minute and Harry Brockbank would score in the 70th minute.
But Las Vegas wasn’t done as Julian Gaines would add another goal in the 73rd minute. So in a span of 19 minutes, eight goals were scored!
Dylan Mares scored his second goal of the season in the 91st minute of the match and cut the Vegas lead to 5-4 but the Locomotive would run out of time in extra play and the Lights FC would get the win.
With the loss, the Locomotive FC are now 0-3 with 0 points and Las Vegas is 2-1 with 6 points. El Paso’s next match will be on road when they take on San Diego Loyal on April 3 at 3 p.m.
