Franklin falls to Odessa Permian 56 –28, Ending Their 2021 season

High hopes were set for the number one team in El Paso, However the Permian Panthers had other plans in the bi – district matchup. 

Despite Franklin playing at home, Permian were relentless on offense posting 28 points in just the 1st quarter. Nevertheless, Franklin did make a strong comeback to pull within 7 points at half, 35 – 28. 

Although, the Cougars showed flashes of life with quarterback Cameron Byrd throwing for three touchdowns and 232 yards, the Panthers option style offense proved to be too much for the Cougars.

Permian move on to face Trinity in the Area round of the 6-A Division 1 State Playoffs.
