The Franklin Cougars came into Friday’s game without a blemish in district and once again proved to be a second half squad as they ended up beating the Pebble Hills Spartans 35-13
Pebble Hills had success moving the ball, yet still trailed by a score of 14 – 13 at half. Cougars senior quarterback, Cameron Byrd threw for 310 yards, but it was the 90-yard hookup with receiver Beau Sparks, that shifted the momentum at the beginning of the 2nd half.
Shortly after Franklin’s defense recorded an interception that led to another Byrd to Sparks score through the air. “I think you should be interviewing someone on defense, because ever sense Eastlake they’ve been playing so good,” Byrd said after the game. “It really makes it easy for us, we might make mistakes, but the turnovers just help us and keep us in the game; they’re just so good and I’m so blessed to be a part of this team.”
