Parkland Overpowers Ysleta 49-8

The Ysleta Indians came into their game against the Parkland Matadors looking to snap their two game skid.  Parkland was looking for their first district win of the season while Ysleta was looking for their first win at home for the season.  

Parkland would score first within the opening minutes of the game. Eric Ortiz completed a 40yd td pass to DeMarion Crest to put Parkland up 7-0. Ortiz would once more connect with Crest late in the first quarter on a 29yd td pass that would put Parkland up 14-0.

Ortiz would get his third touchdown pass of the game when he completed a 18yd pass to Isaiah Beasley early in the second quarter for a 21-0 lead. Ysleta would get their points on the board when Damian Contreras completed a 28yd td pass to Andres Martinez. The Indians would convert on the two point conversion when Contreras found an open Evan Martinez to narrow the lead 21-8.

Parkland would widen the lead once more on Ortiz’s fourth touchdown pass of the half on a 36yd pass to Fernie Estupian. The Matadors would go into the half with a 28-8 lead.

As in the previous two quarters, Parkland scored in the opening minutes when Ortiz connected for a 21yd pass to Crest for his third touchdown reception of the game, to open up their lead 35-8.

A few minutes later, Beasley would find the end zone again on a 43yd td run to put them up 42-8. Beasley would get his longest run of night and the games final points on a 75yd run to seal the win for Parkland. Neither team would score in fourth quarter. Parkland would win the game 49-8.

Parkland hosts Hanks next Friday night while Ysleta has completed their regular season schedule.
