The Del Valle Conquistadors moved to 7-2 overall 2-0 in District 1-5A with their defensively dominated victory over the Bel Air Highlanders.
Bel Air Quarterback Jayson Smith would be pressured all night and the Del Valle Defense would force 3 Turnovers on the night and stop the Highlanders several times on 4th down on their own territory to ensure a dominate victory.
The game began with a Bel Air 3-and-Out and Del Valle’s Offense would take the ball on their first possession to the 4 yard line where Running Back Juan Archuleta would open the scoring up with a Touchdown run.
Both defenses would then tighten up the rest of the half with the score remaining the 7-0 until Bel Air would fumble the ball with 6 seconds left that was scooped up by Dominik Calderon for a Touchdown allowing the Conquistadors to take a 14-0 lead into the half.
Del Valle would get the first score of the second half driving to the Bel Air 3 Yard-line where Quarterback Jesse Ramos would score on a keeper to extend their lead to 21-0. Bel Air Quarterback Jayson Smith would be intercepted by Diego Medal setting up a 4 Yard Kristian Martinez Touchdown Run and make the score 28-0.
Del Valle would open the 4th Quarter scoring with a 4-yard Jesse Ramos Touchdown to make the score 35-0. Bel Air would finally get on the scoreboard with 7:54 left in the game when Quarterback Jayson Smith would score on a 3 Yard Quarterback Run making the score 35-7.
Del Valle Senior Running Back would ice the game with an 11 yard Touchdown run for the last score of the game making the score 42-7.
With the Victory Del Valle now will visit the Chapin Huskies who are also 2-0 in District 1-5a for a winner take all battle for the District 1-5a crown next Friday night.
Bel Air falls to 0-2 in District 1-5a and will face the Eldorado Aztecs who are also 0-2 for 3rd place in the District.
