Chapin Dominates El Dorado 48-7

The Chapin Huskies dominated El Dorado on both sides of the ball as they beat the Aztecs 48-7 on Thursday at the Socorro Complex Center.

Chapin’ s first drive appeared to have been stopped by the Aztec defense but the Huskies went for a fake punt and once they converted, that was all the momentum that they needed to take over this game.

Three plays after the fake punt, the Huskies got on the board as Mason Standerder connected with Anthony Rivera on 35 yard touchdown reception giving them a 7-0 lead. On their next drive, the Huskies would score on another big pass by Standerfer but this time he connected with Timothy Pastran for the touchdown.

In the second quarter the Huskies would score another three touchdowns giving them a 35-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half the Huskies would continue to dominate the Aztecs by scoring another thirteen points. El Dorado would final score a touchdown late in the game avoiding the shut out.

The Huskies would win the game 48-7 and improve to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in District play. Next week they will host Del Valle in a game that could be for the district championship.

The Aztecs will try to bounce back and end the regular season in a positive manner as they take on the Bel Air Highlanders.
