Franklin Shuts Out Coronado 48-0 to Win Westside Bowl

The Franklin Cougars proved why they are the top team in the city as they shut out the Coronado Thunderbirds 48-0 to win the Westside Bowl at the Sun Bowl Saturday Night.

This was the second straight game that Franklin has shut out it’s opponent. The Cougars applied pressure to T-bird’s sophomore quarterback Blake Randag for the majority of the night creating long third down attempts.

Franklin’s senior quarterback back drove the Cougars down the field on multiple drives, finding the end zone through the air and an occasional handoff to his running back Miles McWhorter.

The Cougars stay at the top of the 1-6A standings after Thursday’s win and will take on Americas at the SAC next week, while the T-bird’s will host Eastwood at thunderbird stadium.
