On a historic Sunday night, NHL Exhibition hockey was played in the Sun City.
The El Paso Rhinos hosted the NHL Exhibition game between the Dallas Stars and the Arizona Coyotes. The game was made possible because the El Paso Rhinos won the Kraft Hockeyville online fan contest in 2020.
A sold out crowd of 1,200 got to see some great hockey
The Coyotes would get on the board first when Shane Gostisbehere would score a power play goal 6:39 in the first quarter.
The Stars would respond 5 minutes later when Thomas Harley scored a goal for Dallas. Then with 1:25 in the period Thomas Harley would add another goal for the Stars giving them a 2-1 lead after the first period.
It wouldn’t take the Coyotes long to tie up the game at 2-2 as Liam O’Brien scored 20 seconds into the second period.
Arizona would take the lead when Christian Fischer scored a power play goal 9:17 left in the period. They wouldn’t enjoy the lead for long as the Stars would tie it up less then four minutes later when Ty Dellandrea would score a goal. And that would be the score after two periods 2-2
The third and final period, Joe Paveslski would give the Stars a 4-3 lead as he scored a goal four minutes into it.
Tyler Seguin would the extend Dallas’ lead to 5-3 as he scored a power play goal 4:39 left in the game and another empty net goal would be added by the Stars giving them a 6-3 victory.
