Del Valle Dominates Hanks for Big Homecoming Victory Moving to 5-1

The Del Valle Conquistadores celebrated their homecoming with a dominant win over the Hanks Knights by a Final Score of 59-21.

Del Valle was the better team on both sides of the ball, with their extremely punishing defense putting pressure on Hanks Quarterback Marcus Porras the entire night and virtually eliminating any run game.

Hanks would not be able to score until the 4th quarter when Del Valle would empty their bench with the victory solidified by the end of the 3rd.

Offensively Del Valle scored mostly at will, starting the night off scoring on a Diego Medel Counter sweep for an 11 Yard Touchdown making the score 7-0. The next Del Valle score would come on their next possession when Conquistador Running Back would have his first of two touchdown runs on the night making the score 14-0.

Trying to answer the 2 score lead Hanks Quarterback Marcus Porras would throw a Pick-6 to Del Valle Cornerback Isaac Williams making the score 21-0. Isaac Williams would also show off his skills as a place-kicker nailing a 25 yard field goal making the score 24-0 at the half.

The 3rd Quarter was all Del Valle starting off with Quarterback Jesse Ramos hitting Eli Molina for back to back touchdown passes on the first two possessions of the second half to extend the lead to 38-0.

Del Valle’s Kristen Martinez added a score before the 4th quarter giving the Conquistadors a comfortable 45-0 lead going into the 4th that allowed Head Coach Rudy Contreras to give some opportunities to his younger players the rest of the game.

Hanks would get their first score of the game on a 19 Yard Touchdown pass from Marcus Porras to Idalias Coleman on the first play of the 4th quarter. The Knights duo would hook up later on in the game on a 72 yard touchdown and also had a score from running back Xavier Johnson.

Del Valle’s Sean Ramos and Juan Archuleta would each have touchdown runs in the 4th quarter making the Final Score Del Valles 59 Hanks 21.

Del Valle will make a rare long road trip 131 Miles South of San Diego to the California Border Town of El Centro to face the Central Spartans who are 1-4 against Southern California competition.

For Coach Blair’s Hanks Knights Squad, they look to regroup after a 1-4 start and open district play with a win at home over a Ysleta Indian Team coming off a tough loss.
