The Americas Trialblazers got their first win of the year on Thursday afternoon as they beat the Socorro Bulldogs 26-0 at the Socorro Athletic Complex.
The Trialblazers got off to a fast start as they scored on their first drive after Cae’sar Drennan had a 13 yd TD run making the score 7-0 after the extra point.
On their second possession the Americas scored again when quarterback Mark Moore connected with Anthony Miranda on a 17 yd TD reception. After the extra point the score was 14-0.
Those would be the only points scored in the first half as the Bulldogs defense adjusted and were able to contain the Trailblazers and hold them scoreless in the second quarter.
As for the Bulldogs, they couldn’t get anything going in the first half. The closest they got to scoring was a missed field goal. Except for one 50 yard running play, the offense was non existent.
In the second half, it was pretty much the same as the Americas defense continued to play well and they stopped Socorro every time the got the ball.
The Trialblazers scored two more touchdowns when Moore threw a 4 yard TD pass to Christian Davis and in the fourth quarter, he connected with Anthony Miranda for a 47 yard TD reception. Both extra points were missed which lead to the final score of 26-0
Next the Bulldogs look to bounce as they take on Pebble Hills and Americas hosts Coronado.
