Del Valle Defense Forces 3 Turnovers and Dominates Parkland for 27-7 Victory.

The Del Valle Conquistador Defense put together a complete 4 Quarter Performance holding the Parkland Matadors to 7 points on the night and solidifying a road victory at Matador Stadium.

Del Valle’s front seven was dominant at the line of scrimmage making it difficult for Parkland to establish a running game and putting pressure on Sophomore Quarterback Eric Ortiz the entire evening. Del Valle scored first after spending a majority of the 1st quarter trading punts with Parkland until the :14 mark when Jesse Ramos would cap a drive with a 3-yard keeper to make the score 7-0.

Parkland Quarterback Eric Ortiz would be intercepted by Del Valle Corner/Wide Receiver Brendon Tellez deep in parkland territory and Running Back Kristen Martinez would score on a 22 Yard Touchdown run to make the score 14-0. Del Valle would force Parkland to punt and Brendon Tellez would come through again for the Conquistadors, this time catching a touchdown pass from Jesse Ramos to make the score 21-0 with 5:17 left to play in the half.

Parkland would have it’s most promising drive of the first half on their ensuing possession where Quarterback Eric Ortiz would be stopped a yard short of the end-zone on 3rd and goal and opt to go for it on 4th and goal, but meet a monster Del Valle defensive stop on the play to end the first half turning it over on downs and coming away with no points going into the half.

Parkland would come out in the 2nd half forcing the Conquistadors to go three-and-out and then scoring the Matadors only touchdown on the ensuing drive on a 6 yard Eric Ortiz keeper to cut the Del Valle lead to 21-7.

Del Valle would answer with a touchdown on the next drive on a Touchdown Pass from Jesse Ramos to Eli Molina to make the score 27-7. Del Valle would go on to force two fumbles and bleed the clock out over the next quarter and a half to seal the victory.

Del Valle improves to 4-1 on the season and will return home to Conquest Stadium for their homecoming game against a struggling Hanks High School.

Parkland will try to regroup as they travel to the SAC to play an Eldorado team that has won back to back games.
