Franklin Overpowers Andress 41-21

Coming into tonight’s game, Franklin and Andress were going in opposite directions. Andress had won their first two games and Franklin had lost their first two games. Only 13 yards of offense separate these two teams coming into tonight’s game. It was set up to be a great game…. Until the second half.

The first half was close and with one minute and 44 seconds left, Andress pulled ahead of Franklin. A great pass play to Shay Smith put Andress up by one. Franklin answered back and scored on a 19 yd pass play to Miles McWhorter and Franklin went into the locker room, at half, with a 6 point lead.

Andress finished the first half with 150 yds of offense. Malachi Do had 8 carries for 51 yards and Franco Hernandez 3 receptions for 48 yds. Franklin had 221 of offense. Miles McWhorter 12 rushes for 42 yds and 6 catches for 53 yds for Beau Sparks.

Andress had 8 penalties for 39 yards. All of those came on offsides. Andress was not the well oiled machine it has been in the first two games.

The second half was all Franklin. They had 165 yards of offense in the second half. McWhorter had 11 carries for 65 yards.

Andress got down to the Franklin 29 yard line and their drive stopped on 4th down. That was the closest Andress got the rest of the evening. Andress only had 48 yards of offense in the second half.

The final score was Franklin 41 and Andress 21.

Andress travels to Bowie next week to begin district play while Franklin plays at home to begin district play against Montwood.
