Del Valle Improves to 3-0 with Explosive Offensive Performance in a 49-36 win over Americas.

On a beautiful West Texas night in Conquest Stadium featuring a touching 20th Anniversary 9-11 Tribute, complete with a Homeland Security Fly-Over, The Del Valle Conquistadors defeated the Americas Trailblazers by a score of 49 to 36.

Americas would take the opening kickoff and orchestrate an impressive opening 6:15 drive on the ground that would see the Blazers march inside the Del Valle 5 Yard Line, where the Conquistador defense would hold the Trailblazers to a 22 Yard Field Goal.

Del Valle would show how explosive their offense could be on the ensuing possession where Quarterback Jesse Ramos would find Wideout Eli Molina for a 72 Yard Touchdown Pass making the score 7-3.

The Trailblazers would quickly answer with a good kickoff return and a personal foul penalty tacked on to put them in good field position and score on a Touchdown run 2 plays later making the Score Americas 10 Del Valle 7.

This would be the last lead the Trailblazers would have as Del Valle would open the 2nd quarter with a scoring drive capped off by a Quarterback keeper for 35 yards by Jesse Ramos giving Del Valle a 14-10 lead.

On the ensuing Americas possession, Americas Quarterback Mark Moore III would drive his team deep in Del Valle territory only to be picked off by Del Valle’s Joshua Keough, a turnover that would stop the back and forth pace of the game and put the Conquistadors in control the rest of the game.

Following the interception Del Valle Running Back Kristien Martinez would score on a long run on the next play giving Del Valle a 21 to 10 lead.

Del Valle’s offense was potent and ripping off big play after big play successfully scoring touchdowns on 7 of their first 8 possessions, with the only possession they failed to score on being when they got the ball late in the second quarter and opting to run out the clock and go into halftime with a 35 to 17 lead. The Conquistador offense would not be forced to punt until the middle of the 4th quarter.

The Conquistador Quarterback Jesse Ramos would add two more touchdown passes in the 3rd and 4th quarter that put Del Valle put the game out of reach. Ramos ended his impressive night with 5 Touchdown passes and one Touchdown run.

Americas proved they have great talent as they would add touchdowns late in the game by Jr. Running Back Caesar Drennan and Sophomore Quarterback Mark Moore III to make the final score Del Valle 49 Americas 36.

The Trailblazers fall to 0-3 on the season with tough losses to Midland Christian and Rudder and look forward to starting district play after a bye-week against Eastlake.

For Del Valle, Coach Rudy Contreras has to feel really good about his team who is 3 and 0 in non-district with all 3 wins in impressive fashion coming against Teams from District 1-6A (Coronado, Pebble Hills, Americas).

The Conquistadors play a road game against a Canutillo Team that is 2 and 1 and coming off an impressive victory over Chapin.
