On a beautiful Friday night at Excalibur Stadium on the campus of Hanks High School, the visitors from up Montwood Drive, Eastwood Troopers beat the Hanks Knights 75 – 27.
Eastwood Senior QB Andrew Martinez put on an offensive show in the first half, throwing 4 TDs (13/19 406 yds) and ran for another 84 yds, including a 50 yard scamper as the Troop went into halftime with a 55 – 14 lead.
Hanks Senior RB Xavier Johnson was the workhorse for the Knights and finished with 175 yds and 3 TDs.
In the 2nd Half, Eastwood backup QB Jase Molden lead the way and the Trooper defense was solid all night, lead by Senior LBs Michael Rios and Andrew Flores.
Eastwood has a tough road game next week as they travel to the San Antonio area to battle perennial powerhouse, Smithson Valley. The Knights will be looking for their 1st victory next Friday on the road versus the Bowie Bears.
