Jennifer Han Loses in Unanimous decision to Katie Taylor

Former IBF featherweight Champion Jennifer Han’s quest to become the lightweight WBC, WBO, IBF and WBA titles came up short after she lost to defending champion Katie Taylor

Han stepped behind enemy lines to try and dethrone the undefeated former Olympic gold medalist Taylor but came up short as all three judges had the score 100 – 89. However, Han did receive praise from British commentators about her true professionalism, excellent movement, awareness, and experience.

Despite Han not winning a single round on the judges’ scorecards, Taylor had to fight for every point with each round being very competitive. After the third round Han’s corner was upset about Taylor’s clinching and a clash of heads by the two combatants.

Han was dropped in the 8th round, but replay showed it was slip, as commentators agreed with Han’s appeal.

Though Han was unable to puncture Taylor’s “Gold” armor Han proved she belongs with the world’s best boxers.
