Eastlake Dominates Canutillo in the First Half and Cruises to a 37-14 Victory

Eastlake get the better of Canutillo 37 – 14 at Julius & Irene Lowenberg Stadium in far west Texas.

The Falcons wasted no time after Isaiah Chavez scored a 36-yard touchdown reception, followed by two Elijah Uribe touchdowns, 66-yard run and 50-yard hook and ladder.

Ruben Rodriguez’s stingy defense did not allow the Eagles to establish its game plan, as LJ Martin struggled to find running room throughout the game.

However, Canutillo had an opportunity to close the gap in the second half with an early score and a defense of stop, but Alfonso Mancera’s interception halted the Eagles momentum.

Uribe marched in for a late touchdown run as Eastlake sealed the east versus west matchup with a victory, improving to 2-0 as Canutillo suffer its first loss of the season.

Next week, Eastlake host Parkland while Canutillo travel to the northeast to take on Chapin.
