Bowie Stumbles against Fort Stockton

After a crazy year last year, High School Football is back and even though both Fort Stockton and Bowie came into this
season with a losing record from last year, they both came into this game optimistic knowing that one team would come out with a win, and that team was Fort Stockton as they beat Bowie 32 to 21.

The game started with a Bowie turnover on their own 25 yard line on the first play of the game. Fort Stockton took the ball into the end zone on the second play of the game. Not a great start for Bowie, but they did not quit.

Bowie drove down the field and score and the extra point was good. This would be Bowie’s only lead of the night. They would have to play catch up. At the end of the first half, Bowie had
only 66 yds on offense and Fort Stockton had 185 yds but the score was 13 to 7 with Fort Stockton up.

You could tell this was both teams first game of the season. Penalties hurt both teams tonight. Fort
Stockton had 15 penalties for 145 yds while Bowie only had 9 penalties for 65 years. Fort Stockton had
three personal fouls in the last half of the game and at least 2 touchdowns called back.

Bowie mounted a comeback with 3 minutes left in the game, but the drive stalled on Fort Stockton’s 1 yard line. Bowie’s night was over.

Bowie finished with 221 yards for the game and Fort Stockton finished with 312 yards. Bowie has some talent on their team this year.

QB Aaron Ramirez showed quickness and
passing abilities. Jose Andujo and Jedian Sanchez both can run and catch the ball. Their size may hurt them, but against Fort Stockton, Bowie never gave up and truly left everything on the field.

Bowie plays Horizon next week at Horizon. Horizon lost to Austin to a score of Austin 32 and Horizon 14.
