The El Paso Locomotive FC remained unbeaten this season at South West University Park as they shut out San Antonio FC 2-0.
The Locos won the game thanks to goals scored by Diego Luna (29′) and Jose Aguinaga (45’+2′).
It was Luna’s fifth goal of the season.
By having a two goal lead at the half, the Locos were able to apply great defensive pressure on San Antonio in the second half. Goalkeeper Logan Ketterer had another great match as he earned his third shutout of the season.
Here’s what Head Coach Mark Lowry had to say about tonight’s win:
“We were in control for most of the game, but it wasn’t a great performance. We didn’t really set the world alight, but we did enough. We were comfortable. We could have done more, and we should have done more. I want to see these games end three or four to zero. That’s kind of where we are at right now. I’m happy with the three points but I think there is still more for us to do.”
The Locos get three points with the win and now have a record of 10-1-4, with 34 points
The Locomotive will finish their three game home stand on Saturday as they host Austin Bold FC at 7:30 p.m.
