Locomotive Score 3 Unanswered Goals to beat the Real Monarch SLC and Stay Undefeated at Home

After giving up a goal in the seventeenth minute, the El Paso Locomotive FC scored three unanswered goals and beat the Real Monarchs SLC 3-1 Saturday night at Southwest University Park.

After Charles Wehan scored the goal for the Real Monarchs, the Locos got on the board after Aaron Gomez scored a goal seven minutes after Wehan’s goal.

The match was tied at 1-1 at halftime but in the second half, the Locomotive dominated the match. The team played great defense and Luis Solignac scored not one but two goals. The first one was at the sixty eighth minute and the second came at the eighty first minute.

Here’s what Head Coach Mark Lowry said after the game:

“Today was Final #14 of the season against Real Monarchs. On Wednesday, it will be Final #15 of the season against San Antonio. That’s the kind of mentality that we have and that’s how you keep accumulating points across the season which ultimately leads you to where you want to be.”

With the win, the Locomotive get three points are still undefeated at Southwest University Park this season and have a record of 9-1-4, 31 points.

Their next match will be on Wednesday when they host San Antonio FC, kickoff is at 7 p.m.
