On Saturday afternoon in front of an excited crowd at the Don Haskins Center, Jaime Munguia successfully defended his WBO Intercontinental Middleweight Championship against Kamil Szeremeta in the main event of an action packed fight card put on by Golden Boy Promotions.
The fight was stopped in the sixth round via corner stoppage when it was decided that Szeremeta couldn’t continue. Munguia overwhelmed Szeremeta with a flurry of power punches landed to the body and head throughout the fight.
Possible opponents for Munguia after tonight’s performance could be Gabriel Rosado, Gennady Golovkin, or Jermall Charlo. Here’s what Munguia had to say after the fight. (video courtesy of DAZN Twitter)
The crowd at the Haskins Center was also treated to some good undercard fights.

Marlen Esparza wins the WBC belt by unanimous decision over Ibeth Zamora after being knocked down in the first round. The Houston native improved to 10-1, 1 KO.
Blair Cobbs knockout of Brad Solomon in the 5th round began DAZN’s live coverage of Golden Boy Promotion boxing in the borderland. Cobbs after the fight called out Jesse Vargas to potentially lift off his career into stardom.
Oh, and incase you didn’t hear, Oscar De la Hoya is gonna fight against Vitor Belfort in an exhibition fight in September but he surprised the crowd at the Haskins center by saying that he would love to fight Floyd “Money” Mayweather one more time.
