Sugar Land Comes Back to beat Chihuahuas 8-5

The El Paso Chihuahuas had the a great start to their game against the Sugar Land Skeeters on Thursday night at Southwest University Park. At one point they were up by four runs, but the Skeeters would come back to win the game 8-5

Tucupita Maracana led the off the bottom of the first with a solo home run. Then in the second Gosuke Katoh also hit a solo home run and in the third, they added two runs making the score 4-0.

The score would stay that way going into the fifth, but that’s when the Skeeters got in a groove. In the next three innings the would score eight runs including five in the top of the seventh. The Chihuahuas would add another run in the bottom of the eight but the damage had been done as the Skeeters would win the game 8-5.

The Chihuahuas are now 0-6 against the Skeeters this season. The Chihuahuas hit seven extra base hits in the loss. Thursday was the Chihuahuas’ eighth error-free game in their last nine tries.

The Chihuahuas will host Sugar Land again on Friday night. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
