UTEP Rifle Team adds Sydney McKay for the 2021-22 Season

Alaska native Sydney McKay has signed a national letter of intent to attend UTEP and compete with the rifle team beginning with the 2021-22 scholastic year, Miners rifle head coach Austin Litherland announced Wednesday.

Captain of the Valdez HS rifle team and her club team during her senior year … has shot with Valdez rifle club since the age of 12 … earned a letter her first year of competition with the Valdez HS rifle team … took first place for J2 at the Junior Olympic Rifle Competition (JORC) … has volunteered with the Valdez animal shelter for six years … hails from Valdez, Alaska, which is roughly 300 miles west of Anchorage, Alaska.
