After not being able to play in El Paso because of the pandemic, the Southwest Desert Cats had their first home game of the 2021 PBA season and they showed how excited they were to play at home by destroying the Phoenix Valley Outlaws 137-91.
In front of a very vocal and excited crowd at The Den, the Desert Cats showed that their speed, offense and defense were no match for the Outlaws.
After the first quarter they lead 35-22. At Halftime they lead 60-46. After the 3rd they were up 104-70 and they added another 33 points in the 4th to make the final score 137-91
The Desert Cats had six players in double figures. Justin Avalos lead the team with 23pts, Jesus Mendoza had 20, Timothy Muniz had 19 Daniel Hernandez scored 14, former UTEP player Tevin Caldwell had 13 and Joshua Ramirez scored 12.
After the game, Head Coach Jesus Aragon talked about how his team played.
Tevin Caldwell had some spectacular dunks in the game, afterwards he talked about what it meant to be able to play at home again.
